Why Hate Wal-Mart?
For all the hatred of Wal-Mart out there, they seem to be doing their part to help two of the left’s favorite constituents: poor people, and the environment.
The last time I got a prescription there, it cost $2. Not to mention the fact that the rest of my groceries cost 15-30% less than the sale price at our current grocery store (man I miss that place). And now this:
Ceres, a coalition of investors and environmental and public interest organizations, looked at 63 large companies and rated them on the success of their climate-control strategies. The criteria included “oversight from top executives, public disclosure of efforts, and how (the companies) dealt with greenhouse gas emissions.”
According to the report, the top ten companies are:
1. IBM
2. Tesco PLC
3. Dell Inc.
4. Intel Corp.
5. Johnson & Johnson
6. Nike Inc.
7. Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
8. Applied Materials Inc.
9. Coca-Cola Co.
10. Sun Microsystems Inc.
