Steelers 27, Cards 23; I’ll Take It
Steelers 31, Cards 14
That’s my call. The steelers defense will dominate this one, and either score or get a big return to set up the O for a score.
Warner, Fitzgerald, and Boldin are great players, so they’ll get theirs, but their offense will become one-dimensional when the Steelers shut down the running game. Willie Parker will be effective, if not explosive, and Roethlisberger will get the job done. Hines Ward is ready, and the rest of the offense will step it up. This one may be close in the first half, but the second half – the fourth quarter in particular – will be all Pittsburgh.
Well, I got a few things right: Warner and Fitzgerald got their yards, and Fitz proved he’s better than Jerry Rice (at least this winter). Roethlisberger got it done, with his first Super Bowl TD pass at the best moment possible. And Santonio Holmes…Blows a nearly impossible game-winning catch, then makes a tougher one on the next play. And on top of that 9 catches for 131 yards. Great game.
